Two new businesses set for opening in Ardee
Two new businesses will open in Ardee shortly – with empty units on Market Street and Irish Street being filled as a result.
Knead Artisan Bakery is opening a new retail outlet in the former Farrell’s Dry Cleaners premises on Market Street, in between the Vodafone Store and what was until recently Wheels and Heels.
The bakery already has an outlet in Dunleer, having opened there in November 2014. This store marks their first retail expansion beyond their first store although their goods are baked on site at their bakery in Ardee.
Knead produce artisan breads and pastries and since opening on the Main Street in Dunleer 18 months ago (above), their produce has gone down a storm locally.
Elsewhere, one of the empty units on Irish Street have been filled. The former Deismerean/The Vintage Loft store will reopen as Revolve. The new shop has an opening date of Friday May 6th.
On its Facebook page, Revolve say they will stock ‘pre-loved, new & upstyled collectables’, household goods and antiques.
The shop will also stock the Frenchic furniture paint brand and will paint customer’s own pieces too, as an additional service.
The opening of the two new stores come as a further boost to retail activity and enterprise in the town. Ardee Jewellers opened recently in the former Declan Curran unit beside the electrical retailer’s new store while work is currently underway on the building of Bliss Tea Rooms in May Muckian’s former shop on Irish Street.
Earlier this month, a new charity shop in aid of St Lukes opened on Market Street after the €2 shop there closed. There is also a ‘Coming Soon’ sign in the window of one of the vacant units at the bottom of Irish Street – the former Ooh La La shop.
