Ardee St Marys

The Kelloggs Cul Camp will be taking place at Ardee St Marys from July 3rd to July 7th this year, fro 10am to 2.30pm daily. The cost of the camp is €60 and includes the Cul Camp gear. If you are interested in registering your child, please go to the following link where more information is available.

The Ardee St Marys Academy has returned and boys and girls aged 4-7 are welcome to join in the action-packed one hour of fun. This is a great introduction to GAA and the coaches focus on the child’s agility, balance and coordination through games and fun exercises.

The annual fee is €30 per child . No football boots or gumshields are required – just bring water. It’s on Saturdays at 11am.

The club’s ‘Buy a Seat Make a Stand’ is proving very popular and you still have time to get involved. It’s your opportunity to engrave your name or the name of a loved one on the club’s new stand. There was no winner of this week’s Ardee St Marys lotto jackpot this week. The numbers drawn were 13 14 16 and 25. The €50 winner was Daire McConnon and the €20 winners were Kevin Murphy, Sinead Mills and 44 Tierney Street.

Next week’s jackpot will be €8,600.

Ardee St Mary’s GFC club fundraising lotto draws, run on a weekly basis, play a huge part in the fundraising efforts of the club. The club lotto is very generously sponsored by Carrick Road Service Station, Carrick Road, Ardee.

Hunterstown Rovers

Hunterstown are running a bus to Parnell Park on Sunday for Louth’s 2017 Championhsip opener against Wicklow. To book a seat, call 089 424 8931.

The club’s U5/U6 nursery group started training on Thursday evening April 27th 6-7pm and continueS weekly. All are welcome.

Training has resumed on Friday evenings from 6-7pm for the Under 7s & Under 8s groups.

Hunterstown Rovers’ bingo continues as usual and is on this Friday at 8pm in Ardee Parish Centre. There are some great cash prizes to be won, including the jackpot of €3,800. Over €1,500 worth of prizes are given away every week. Bingo books start at €6.

There was no winner of the Hunterstown Rovers GFC Lotto this week. Next week’s jackpot remains at €10,000. The numbers drawn were 8 15 18 and 28. The five €20 winners were Martin Roddy, Valerie Levins, PJ McCabe, Amanda & Brian Lane and Colm Kelly.

Tickets are available for the club weekly lotto draw from bingo, any committee member and the Hunterstown Inn. They are only €2. The club would like to thank Denis McKenna & Son Building Contractors for kindly sponsoring the lotto tickets this year.

Sean McDermotts GFC

The Sean McDermotts have announced their new major fundraiser – a Country Music Barn Dance and Concert. Headlined by Lee Matthews, who recently appeared on The Late Late Show and also featuring Claire Dillon, the event takes place at McGahon’s Bar in Churchtown on Saturday July 1st.

Tickets will be available on the door on the night and will cost €20.

Some new fitness classes are beginning at the Sean McDermotts GFC clubhouse this Thursday, May 18th. Taking place at 7pm every Tuesday and Thursday, it’s a great way to begin your journey in getting fit and losing weight. Each class costs €5.

John Mitchels GFC

The club’s new Body Active Fitness Bootcamp are continuing at 7pm in at the club ground three nights a week.

The bootcamp is designed to get the most results in the shortest possible allowable time. Using body weighted exercises, you can improve endurance, burn fat, re-sculpture your body, increase your strength and flexibility and of course become fitter and healthier.

The bootcamp runs on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays at the club house at 7pm. Part of the funds raised through the Bootcamp will go to Cancer Research.

There was no winner of this week’s John Mitchels Lotto jackpot. Next week’s jackpot is €4,600.

Lotto Envelopes are available in Landy’s Irish Harp Bar, Ardee Post Office or from any Committee member. Draw takes place every Tuesday night in the clubrooms. The club thanks you for your continued support as all funds raised go towards the development of the club for members and the Community.

With the new Gaelic season gearing up to get going for both adults and juveniles, John Mitchels have now launched their online shop. Club gear can be purchased for all ages – so now there is no excuse not to be turned out in Mitchels colours whether you are a player or supporter! Westerns GFC

It is hoped the brand new Reaghstown Community Playground could be open to the public soon – but work is still ongoing and the group behind the project are relying on donations from the public to complete the funding drive for the new facility.

Anyone – local or otherwise – can donate to the cause online at the playground’s GoFundMe page and can find even more information on the new Facebook page which accompanies the fundraising effort.

Club membership is now due. Membership costs €35 or you can play €120 for membership and a year’s lotto subscription. You can contact any committee member to pay your fees.

Girls registration money is also now due. The cost is €25 for U12, U14 and U16. The full cost is €53 with the club paying the balance. U10’s pay €20. Please put in an envelope with child’s name and give to Catherine, Terri or Lorraine.

There was no winner of last week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 6 8 18 and 24. There was one Match 3 winner last week – Mary Kearney who wins €450. This week’s lotto jackpot is €14250. Match 3 is back to €150. The draw takes place at Brady’s Bar (tomorrow night).

Westerns Lotto tickets can be purchased in the following outlets: Hughie O’Neill’s Menswear, The Station, Ardee Post Office, The Danny Boy, Brady’s Bar, Aclint Community Hall or from any member of Westerns GFC.

The jackpot increases by €150 each week if it is not won and Match 3 starts at €150 and increases by €150 if not won. This week’s jackpot is €14,200 and the Match 3 is €150.

Ardee Cycling Club

Ardee Cycling Club is set to host its first ever Cycling League, starting this monthh – which will run every Tuesday evening for eight weeks from 30th May until 18th July.

Sign on will take place between 6:15 and 6:45pm at Ardee Parish Centre each Tuesday night. Entry fee is €5 per week. Entrants must have a minimum of a Limited Competition Licence.

Races will start from 7pm at the old McCabe’s Toyota garage on the Tallanstown road and will follow two laps of the circuit: McCabe’s Garage – Dundalk Road – Left at Duffys Cross (Cluskey’s Pub) – Tallanstown – Pepperstown – McCabes Garage. Finish Line on second lap on Pepperstown Hill.

Ardee Cycling Club are asking members of neighbouring cycling clubs in the North East to help with marshalling on the day. If you and your club mates would like to help the Ardee team out on Saturday 27th from 2pm -4pm, please phone Eamon Martin on 087 618 6463.

Ardee & District Athletics Club

Due to unforseen circumstances, the Ardee area Community Games athletics trials will be held on Tuesday May 23rd in the Boys School Field, with events starting at 6.30pm sharp. Events are for athletes aged Under 8 to Under 16.

Square United

Square United are holding their now annual fundraising Golf Classic in Ardee Golf Club on Friday June 9th. The cost to enter the team in the Four Ball is €120. To secure your tee time, call Sean Malone on 087 247 4860 or Tony Boyle on 087 990 4638.

Square United host the Everton Soccer School this summer – from July 17th to July 21st between 10am and 3pm daily. Limited places are available and it costs €80 per child. For more information and to book, call Carol on 087 763 3115 or Paddy on 083 428 0126.

Every Sunday you can play Square United’s ‘Find The Joker’ game in Hamills. Last week’s jackpot of €1,400 was not won. Helen Malone won €50 and Emma Reilly won €25.

Tickets are €2 each or three for €5. Tickets are available from Hamills at any time or from a committee person. Next week’s jackpot is €1,500 which will be played for next Sunday.

Square United FC would like to extend deepest sympathy to first team player Johnny Sheridan and his family on the passing of his Grandad Willie Farrelly. May He Rest in Peace.

Square Utd are extending their coaching team for the upcoming 2017/18 season. With an ever increasing player base it’s important to the club to increase their coaching staff to deliver a high standard of coaching. Square Utd pride themselves on player development in a fun, friendly and safe environment. For those of you who would have an interest in joining the voluntary coaching team but don’t have the necessary requirements, – do not fear, training and support is provided for all coaches as part of your own coach education.

Ardee Celtic

Ardee Celtic’s first team face the biggest game of the season on Thursday evening as they face Boyne Harps in the NEFL Premier Division promotion/relegtion playoff. The match kicks off at 7.45pm at United Park in Drogheda. With extra time and penalties possible, Ardee Celtic know a win will see them go up.

The FAI Summer Soccer Schools return to Townparks this summer from Monday July 10th to Friday July 14th. The price is the same as last year at €65. All participants will receive a FAI Summer Soccer Schools kit, backpack and football – as well as experiencing a week of fun and expert coaching.

Tickets for Ardee Celtic’s Bonus Ball draw are available from any Ardee Celtic Committee member and in the clubhouse also. All you have to do is match the bonus ball in the midweek National Lottery main draw. It’s €2 per pick or €5 for three.

Well done to Ardee Celtic’s Under 12 boys and the senior second team who both won their respective league cups last weekend.

Ardee Badminton Club

The club have now held their last club night of the year. They will return in September. Some club members are taking part in the Louth Graded Open this week.

Ardee Golf Club

Ardee Golf Club are holding their Open Week from May 31st to June 6th. Timesheers are now open and you can book by calling the pro-shop on 041 685 7472 or by the BRS. Details below.

Ardee Golf Club will be hosting a ‘Get into Golf’ programme for ladies from every Thursday evening, starting on June 1st, between 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The programme will last over eight weeks and will include six lessons and tea or coffee after each session before the final two weeks will see all ladies getting a chance to play on the course. You can contact the Pro Shop on 041 685 7472 to book. The cost is €80 per lady.

The club have a temporary vacancy for grounds assistant over the summer and autumn months. The duration of the role is June 1st to October 30th and machinery experience is essential. The club are also looking for experienced part time bar staff

Ardee Rugby Club

The Ardee Rugby Club March/April newsletter is now available. If you want a copy of this or future newsletters emailed to you just send your email address to ardeerfcnewsletter@gmail.com.

Ardee Rugby Club are holding Summer Tag Rugby sessions all summer, every Thursday evening. Boys and Girls Under 13 can play between 6.30pm and 7.30pm whilst adult and outh sessions take place between 7.30pm and 9pm. Everybody welcome.

There is also ladies ‘Give it a TRY’ sessions every Wednesday between 7pm and 8.30pm.
