Treatment Plant work leaves Ardee without water

Some areas of Ardee and the surrounding areas may be experiencing water outages today as upgrade work is undertaken as part of the upgrade of the water treatment plant in the town.

Irish Water say that essential repairs are being carried out which in turn may cause supply disruptions to areas as wide ranging as Ardee, Pepperstown, Mullanstown, Smarmore, Ballapousta, Stabannan, Dromin, Tallanston and other surrounding areas in Co. Louth.

They say the estimated completion time for work is 6pm, today Wednesday.

Some areas of Ardee – including a number of town centre businesses say they have been without water since approximately 10am this morning.

UPDATE: Engineers say water will return to all of Ardee by 6pm on Wednesday.
