Ardee Cycling Club
Currently running three group speeds – leisure, touring and advanced – Ardee Cycling Club offer cyclists of all ages and abilities the chance to get out and enjoy cycling. Distances and speeds increase with each group, meaning members can always test themselves to their level alongside members of similar capabilities.
Groups are out in force for weekend cycles and on weekday evenings too, so regardless of your working or social schedule, there’s usually a time convenient for all. The Saturday and Sunday cycles leave from the Market Square in the town, with Tuesday and Thursday evening rides departing from the Parish Centre on Hale Street.
Members of the advanced group and some cyclists in the touring group are currently competing in the Dundalk Bike Station League. The club and it’s members have become a common sight on the streets of Ardee and the roads of ot’s hinterland in recent years.
In February, the club were very involved in the RTE Operation Transformation Cycle that took place in Ardee, as part of local man Mark McArdle’s participation in the programme.
Ardee Cycling Club’s aim is to create a club that will encourage people to keep fit through cycling. It is also their goal to ensure that all their members are safe and enjoy each cycle they take part in throughout the year.
